1901 College

Fitting the vibe of historic
Cliff Bungalow.

1901 College is close to two of Calgary’s premier Main Streets and contextually responds to its neighbours.

1901 College is a 5 storey, 70 unit multi-residential building at the intersection of 19 AV SW and 5 ST SW in Cliff Bungalow. The four parcel assembly is located one block from both the 17 AV SW and 4 ST SW Main Streets, giving future residents opportunities to live, work, dine, and shop within steps of their homes. The building was designed with context in mind: mass is gathered toward street edges and away from low density century homes across the lane.

A community-oriented feel is achieved through the application of heritage masonry in specific locations, which blends with neighbouring built forms and further breaks down the visual perception of mass. Also contributing to a community feel at grade are porches and front door entries in street-facing units, tree planting, and a new boulevard separating sidewalks from the street that improves safety for all modes movements in the area.
