Frontier

Mid-rise mixed-use development along an evolving Main Street.

Frontier is the second phase of a progressive partnership between The Royal Canadian Legion North Branch No.264 and Calgary-based developer-builder Truman.

Now that the Legion has a new home at No. 264, Frontier involves the redevelopment of the former branch building into an 8 storey, mid-rise, mixed-use development. 266 units are provided in one, two and three bedroom options, while a significant amount of community-serving commercial-retail units of varied size are provided at grade.

The site is uniquely deep for the inner city, allowing the design to establish a strong street wall at Kensington RD NW Main Street and to step down intentionally towards lower density neighbours to the north. Beyond this design move and to be a good neighbour, Truman has invested off site in nearby park space upgrades at QE school and traffic calming measures along 18 ST NW for students.
