Unlocking new affordable seniors’ housing in southwest Calgary.
A comprehensive development to expand an existing and well-loved seniors’ community to offer more affordable seniors homes and provide a range of care options. In collaboration with City of Calgary Affordable Housing Team, this proposal provides the phased development 90 new affordable seniors’ homes, with rent capped at 30% of income.
The expansion offers a greater continuum of care at Shawnessy Commons allowing seniors to stay within their community as their needs change.
The development vision for this site allows Silvera to leverage excess land and existing facilities within an seniors‘ community to unlock new and much needed seniors’ housing for Calgarians.
