West Nineteenth is a 101-unit, 6-storey mixed-use development that will add people and jobs in support of a growing commercial-retail high street in West Hillhurst.
Delivered by the same developer behind 19+2 directly adjacent to the site, West Nineteenth echoes the design of its predecessor by introducing an attractive new mix of housing and retail options to the neighbourhood. The building employs massing strategies along the rear lane, in addition to setbacks, stepbacks, and thoughtful materiality to reduce overlooking, sun-shadow impacts, and the visual perception of mass to neighbouring properties.
West Nineteenth introduces four new commercial units on 19 ST NW to continue the growth of a double loaded commercial-retail corridor that serves residents of West Hillhurst. The public realm design will enhance the pedestrian experience for residents and visitors, dovetailing with ongoing municipal streetscape upgrades for 19 ST NW that are designed to promote safer all-modes movements along the corridor.
