Beacon is a visionary two-storey commercial building that serves as a catalyst for the transformation of the west end of 17th Avenue SW from a car-oriented corridor to a people-friendly, vibrant Main Street.
Among its myriad contributions to an improved public realm, the architecturally striking building features a large glazed façade with active at-grade retail for a more engaging pedestrian experience.
Beacon adds approximately 1,800 square feet of high quality neighbourhood-focused retail and commercial floor space to 17 Avenue SW – setting the stage for future redevelopment that helps define the corridor, encourages travel on foot, and creates a unique sense of place along this important Main Street.
