Calgary Event Centre: Scotia Place

A key destination and catalyst
for future growth and entertainment.

Scotia Place is a multi-purpose, state-of-the-art sports and entertainment complex in the heart of Calgary’s East Beltline Community Area.

Scotia Place is Alberta’s newest premier sports and entertainment venue, playing a defining role in transforming Calgary’s Downtown and the emerging Culture + Entertainment District. This project represents a shared investment between The City of Calgary, Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation (CSEC), and the Province of Alberta. The 10-acre city block re-imagines the traditional single-use stadium model, replacing an isolated building within a vast sea of parking with a new, state-of-the-art mixed use facility that blends into Calgary’s existing and future urban fabric.

It is the future host venue of the NHL’s Calgary Flames and will provide gathering places and amenities such as a large community rink, indoor and outdoor plazas, and ground-level retail and commercial spaces.
